A mini roadtrip in Iceland
07 January, 2023
With the pandemic-inspired lockdown of the past few years finally retreating, it was time to start some travel again. This was my first genuine post covid expedition. An overnight road trip on Iceland's west coast in October 2022.
I love Iceland, and it never disappoints. I'm already planning a more extended road trip in March 2023...
A rock in the run off of the Baranfosse waterfall
I didn't know these people and didn't want to interupt their moment
The sun setting over Hraunfossar
Hraunfossar - a waterfall running off of nearby lava field
Sun setting over the bay

The road to the Hítarvatn Lake was rather rugged
Some of the mountains on the road to the Hítarvatn
The view across the Hítarvatn lake with a snowcapped mountain in the distance
Ice forming on the edge of Hítarvatn
Stopping to take photos in the giant Berserkjahraun lava field
A mountain overlooking Berserkjahraun lava field
View accross the bay next to the Berserkjahraun lava field

I love the contrast of the green moss on the dark gray volcanic landscape
Part of the Berserkjahraun wit the bay just visable in the background
